Just under 24 hours after surgery, they had Dad up and walking. He was headed to a nice "penthouse" room at the end of the hallway. Very exciting, but sad too because Dad was in a lot of pain! They wanted to move him about 12 hours after surgery, but no rooms were opened, so he got extra rest time! It is amazing how fast they try to get you up and moving these days after having your chest cut opened. Go Dad!
