Day 181

Wednesday, June 30, 2010
Today's POTD is Riley in his tent.  He was going to sleep downstairs in the basement in this little pop up tent, until he realized that the DVD player wasn't working and he wanted to watch the new Scooby Doo movie that I had bought for him and his brother.  So he decided to head upstairs to bed and he said he would "take a nap in his tent tomorrow".  I was still able to get a few shots of him in his tent so I can scrapbook them someday!

Day 180

Tuesday June 29, 2010
Today, after Ron and I got our hair cut, we went to dinner and then we remembered that the Percy Jackson movie came out on DVD.  So I ran to Target and bought it.  Ron and I started to watch it and the boys decided to join us after their baths.  It was nice to all watch a movie together.  It was a pretty good movie, even though it didn't follow the book too good.  As with many movies, I still think the book was much better!

Day 179

Monday June 28, 2010
Today we had a pretty laid back day.  I was still recovering from my migraine yesterday so I took it easy.  I was able to work on getting my Project 365 blog caught up, even though I am not quite there, and do the laundry.  Tonight we had another t-ball game for Riley and this is what my POTD is of.  I thought this one was cute, because Riley is looking at the coach like he doesn't know what to do next.  I am so glad he is enjoying the t-ball!

Day 178

Sunday June 27, 2010
Today, Ron and I worked on the "rock project" AGAIN!  Mom and Dad kept the boys last night, so Ron and I got up and started in on the rocks!  Well I worked for a while and we were making really good progress, but then about 2:30 p.m. I decided to "get" a migraine headache!  It was such a bad one!  I felt bad because Mom and Dad had just showed up with the boys to help.  I had to go in the house and lay down.  I was able to take Riley to t-ball practice without getting sick, so Ron and Dad could continue working on the rocks.  We got a lot done today despite my migraine.  I can't wait until it's all done and looks sooo good!

Day 177

Saturday June 26, 2010
Today my POTD is my Dad!  We went to his house to have a cookout for his birthday/father's day.  His birthday is Monday and he and Mom were on their 45th wedding anniversary adventure on Father's Day.  I really like this photo of Dad!  He finally is looking so much better after his recent heart attack!  He is such a good man.  He will do anything for his family.  He is our fix it man, our BBQ smoker, our walking knowledge of pretty much everything (except sports, but he probably knows some about that too), our financial advisor, sometimes our bank, our errand runner, our yard work helper, our EVERYTHING!  As a matter of fact he is "fixing/cleaning" one of the boy's toys in the photo!  We love you Dad!

Day 176

Friday June 25, 2010
Today Zach had a photo shoot with Jordan.  They were chosen to be in the 2011 Down Syndrome Association Calendar.  We meet the photographer downtown and she took a few "urban" photos of the boys.  They both cooperated really well and I think she got at least one good one!  I can't wait for the calendar to be done.

Day 175

Thursday June 24, 2010
Today's POTD is of Ron working on the "rock project".  He is such a good guy!  He works 10-12 hours at work, comes home, eats dinner, and then goes out to work on the rocks for a few hours until dark!  I love you babe!

Day 174

Wednesday June 23, 2010
Today's POTD is of Zach after helping Ron with rocks tonight!  They worked for a few hours after dinner up until dark moving and cleaning rocks.  Riley threw a huge fit when I asked him to help move some rocks that got put in the grass instead of the driveway, so he and I went in the house he took a bath and went to bed!  Zach was pretty tired, but such a trooper helping Dad!

Day 173

Tuesday June 22, 2010
Today Riley had his first t-ball game of the season.  There was quite a bit of confusion as to whether he would play or not.  First because the community center never called to tell me what team he was on, and second because Riley wanted to throw fits instead of play.  But as you can see in this photo, he decided to play and he is enjoying it.  Go Sweetarts!

Day 172

Monday June 21, 2010
Today's POTD is just a little piece of me.  I love all things John Deere!  This sign is something I see almost everyday on my way down to the computer and back up.  We have many metal signs like this decorating our basement.  I love them and I love John Deere stuff!

Day 171

Sunday June 20, 2010
So we start the "rock" project!  After sleeping yesterday, I went out and helped Ron move and clean rocks and then we did it again today!  We are going to have the guy come and give us the edging I wanted and we have to move all the rocks and clean them before he comes in 3 weeks or so.  It's a lot of work, but we believe it will be worth it in the end!  Also Happy 45th Wedding Anniversary to my parents and Happy Father's Day to my Dad and to my wonderful husband, the only man I would want to be the father of my children!

Day 170

Saturday June 19, 2010
Today was a crazy day!  I got home from Relay about 8:30 a.m. and jumped in the shower.  After being up for over 25 hours straight (with only 1 hour of rest) I needed it.  I sat down on the couch after my shower and dosed in and out, waiting for time to go to Riley's t-ball photos.  Well that didn't happen!  Riley had a MAJOR melt down and I wasn't in the mood to MAKE him go get photos or play t-ball if he didn't want to.  So we went to lunch at Bambino's and then for dessert at Culver's and then I came home and CRASHED!  I am so thankful that the boys and Ron let me sleep!  It was much needed!

Day 169

Friday June 18, 2010
Today's POTD was from the survivor lap at the CS Central Relay for Life!  Zach walked with many survivors in the opening lap to kick off the 2010 Relay.  I am so proud of him.  He is my reason to Relay!  Actually the guy next to him is Terry and we met him many years ago and he finally came back to our Relay.  He told me tonight that Zach was his inspiration!  How cool is that?  Many hours have gone into the planning of this event and I am proud to say that I was a part of what made it happen!

Tuesday, June 29, 2010

Day 168

Thursday June 17, 2010
Today we went to dinner at California Pizza Kitchen because they were doing a benefit for Relay for Life.  We picked up Kayla so that she could spend the night with us to help me out for Relay stuff tomorrow.  Mom and Dad met us for dinner too.  It was actually pretty good food!  After that we walked down to Maggie Moo's and had ice cream.  Yum Yum!

Day 167

Wednesday June 16, 2010

Today I couldn't choose, so I decided to put both photos up.  First of all Riley James just being a boy in the summer with his bubbles!  I just loved the photo!  I can't wait to make a layout for those photos!  The second photo is of the edging that I want!  I had a guy from A Better Edge come by today and give us a quote on putting this edging all around the front of the house instead of the metal edging that we currently have that really doesn't do the job of keeping the grass out of the rocks!  He can do it for $1000.00, so now I have to see if Ron wants to spend the money!

Day 166

Tuesday June 15, 2010
Today Zach and I attended the city wide cancer survivor dinner.  Relay for Life puts on a dinner to honor cancer survivors and the past few years they have made it city wide.  It was a very nice dinner and all the volunteers that put it together really did a great job!  Zach is going on 13 years of surviving his cancer!  What a fighter!

Day 165

Monday June 14, 2010
Today I went to one of the local radio stations (KKLI) and did a short spot about Relay for Life with the morning show guys Captain Dan and Paul Richards.  They were very fun, down to earth and welcoming guys!  Next time I won't be so reluctant to do it.

Day 164

Sunday June 13, 2010
Today Ron left for some classes for work in Houston, TX.  Although he doesn't like to travel alone,  and I wish I was heading out with him, I am sure he will have a good time.  A whole week away from the day to day goings on, how could you not enjoy that?

Day 163

Saturday June 12, 2010
Today's POTD is Riley James playing with the playdough.  I came home from a day of cropping to find him at the table with all the stuff out.  I was actually pretty happy that he was doing it the way I have told him that he can do it!  (At the table with the playdough mat) Yeah something is sinking in!

Day 162

Friday June 11, 2010
Today I had a little pampering done!  Jen who is Zach's case manager that helps us with Medicaid stuff offered to take both the boys to a movie, feed them and then take Zach to softball practice.  So I had from 3:30 - 7:30 to myself.  Since I never get to see my best friend Stephanie, we decided to take a few hours and we had pedicures done and then went and walked around Target like we used to do all the time.  It was good to spend time with her again.  After that I still had some time to myself, so I went home and got some Relay stuff in order.  What a great worry free time!

Day 161

Thursday June 10, 2010
Today's POTD is of my foot exercise.  I believe I have planters fasciitis.  I am not sure, but the chiropractor thinks I do as well.  So he told me to keep rolling the frozen Gatorade bottle like my brother in law told me he did and he has been doing some ultrasound on it.  I think it is helping, I just need to fit in time to do the exercise!

Day 160

Wednesday June 9, 2010
Today my wonderful husband turned 40!  Happy Birthday Babe!  We kept it pretty low key, but after Zach's golf practice we went to dinner and Ron's friend Mike joined us for a drink before dinner and then we went to Sam's and picked up a cake and went home and had cake and ice cream.  I am so proud of everything Ron has done and does for our family and all that he has become!

Day 159

Tuesday June 8, 2010
Today I decided to take a photo of my blueberry breakfast muffin.  I know it's not what I should be eating for breakfast, but it looked good and it's what I wanted.

Day 158

Monday June 7, 2010
Today's POTD is my sun tea!  I love iced tea!  I would have to say that it's my favorite!  I love the ease of making it too! I am not sure why I only think about making it in the summer, we have sun here all the time!?

Day 157

Sunday June 6, 2010
Today we went to Loveland for the Special Olympics state swimming meet.  Zach had a great time!  He competed in the 25 meter float, the 15 meter assisted and the 10 meter float.  He got 2 Gold's and a Silver!  For the first time he was actually competing and not just swimming against himself.  After the competition we went and had lunch and then drove around Loveland and checked out Boyd Lake State Park.  What a good day!

Monday, June 28, 2010

Day 156

Saturday June 5, 2010
Today we went fishing with Ron's sister and family.  The boys and Kellie all had a good time fishing.  I didn't buy a license again this year so I just went along for the ride.  We went down to Brush Hollow which is down in Penrose, CO.  We were over by the dam when all of a sudden we heard this big boom.  I looked around and saw these kids cliff jumping!  I thought it looked like crazy fun.  It reminded me of the Twilight books and it also reminded me how old I am!  I wish I would have done something like that when I was younger, but now common sense overrides impulses like these!

Day 155

Friday June 4, 2010
Today's photo is of Ron doing Zach's eyes.  We recently found out that he most likely has a severe pollen allergy.  I took him to the eye doctor for his routine check up and his eyes were red and goopy and I apologized because they weren't like that when I sent him to school that morning.  She started looking and decided to put him on an allergy eye drop and a steroid eye drop and then we had to go back to her and then she decided he had some other eye thing and we had to start putting an ointment on his eyes at night too.  She said that he will be on the allergy eye drop long term, so I guess we better get used to this!

Day 154

Thursday June 3, 2010
Today's POTD is the book I am almost finished reading.  I have really enjoyed it.  Now I need to see the movie, even though I am sure it won't be as good as the book.  I am very glad that I have finally started reading just for the pleasure of reading.  I have never really been a reader, I did read the "Left Behind" series sometime ago and enjoyed them, but I think I really became a reader after I read the "Harry Potter" series.   Since then I have been on the lookout for good books and or series of books.

Day 153

Wednesday June 2, 2010
This is my busy, busy June calendar.  I made two of them, one for me and one for my Mom/babysitter!  Not much free time and it doesn't help that Ron will be gone the week of Relay!

Day 152

Tuesday June 1, 2010
Tis the season to have the door open at night.  I really love the cool night air, but I don't like the bugs that come with it.  We have already turned on the A/C but on cool nights I still like to open the back door and crack the garage door to let the air flow through the house.

Day 151

Monday May 31, 2010 Memorial Day
Today we went fishing up at Tarryall Reservoir.  On the way there we slowed down to check out what another car was looking at and we saw this Big Horn Sheep!  It is the first time we have ever seen one in the wild so of course I took a few photos!  I don't think the boys were as excited as I was, but whatever!

Day 150

Sunday May 29, 2010
Today's photo was from Dad.  Mom and I asked him to try smoking some ribs for the Memorial Day weekend that we found on sale at Albertson's.  He wasn't too sure about doing it, since the last time he did it he over cooked them and they were tough.  He gave it a try and even had a little help from my boys!

Day 149

Saturday May 29, 2010
Today we went over to Mom and Dad's to do some yard work.  Dad wanted his lawn de-thatched (I think that's what it's called), so we went over and let Zach mow for them and then Ron changed blades and went over it again to de-thatch it (aka make a huge mess).  We then raked the mess up.  Dad still isn't back to his normal self after the heart attack, but he's getting there!  Glad we could help out.

Day 148

Friday May 28, 2010
Today's POTD is of my 2010 sandals.  I actually picked them up at the Goodwill for $5.99.  They were brand new and I thought they were cute.  They actually are fairly comfortable too, so I guess that makes for an all around bargain!

Thursday, June 24, 2010

Day 147

Thursday May 27, 2010
Today we went and cheered on the local law enforcement as they ran the Special Olympics Torch across the state to raise money for Special Olympics Colorado.  This group was waiting to run the next leg with the torch and we all cheered as the torch arrived at this stop.  Zach even ran about a block with them as they took off, but soon tired out due to the heat and the attention he received when he slowed down. :)

Day 146

Wednesday May 26, 2010
Today's photo is our first watermelon of the year!  Riley James LOVES watermelon and has been asking for watermelon all winter long, but I believe that watermelon in a summer food.  I hope it is tasty when we open it!

Day 145

Tuesday May 25, 2010
Relay, Relay, Relay!  It's that time of year to step it up and really focus on getting things in place for Relay for Life.  We had an extra committee meeting tonight just to make sure things were on track for the event!  I guess we'll see in less than a month!

Day 144

Monday May 24, 2010
Today's photo is my laundry!  I have been doing a lot of it lately!  Riley has out grown everything, so I hit the thrift stores and got him some summer clothes.  I got Zach a few outfits as well. Unless it's a real bargain, I just can't see spending big bucks on new clothes for these boys that are growing like weeds!  We're wearing green!

Day 143

Sunday May 23, 2010
Today we decided to take out the bush next to our driveway.  I really was reluctant to kill a bush, but it really was in the way and it was only "pretty" a few weeks when it bloomed.  Hopefully it will increase the curb appeal in the long run!

Day 142

Saturday May 22, 2010
Today was Zach's last soccer practice.  Last week and this week, he decided to play with the "big boys".  He has been playing on the smaller, younger team for the last few years, but I think he has outgrown that team and can play with the bigger more experienced players.  I think he proved himself, so I guess we'll see next season.

Day 141

Friday May 21, 2010
Today's photo is all the stuff I keep "getting rid of"!  I have been slowly getting things out of the house and into this growing pile in the garage.  Now I just need to get it off to donation!

Monday, June 14, 2010

Day 140

Thursday May 20, 2010
Today was the last day of school for Zach.  I made these cards for his teachers and then also made some bag toppers with the same layout on it.  I created the 4x6 layout in CM software and then just put it on the front of the card.

Day 139

Wednesday May 19, 2010
Today's photo is of my second digital scrapbook page.  I was just playing around and I created it.  I really like it and so did my niece Kayla.  I am really liking the digital scrapbooking!

Day 138

Tuesday May 18, 2010
Today Zach graduated from the 8th grade.  He had a ceremony at the high school tonight and really had a great time.  He was very proud, and we were even more proud of him for such an accomplishment!  High School here he comes!

Monday, June 7, 2010

Day 137

Monday May 17, 2010
Today I took the time to play with the CM digital scrapbook software and this was my first creation.  I started with a blank page and created this.  I am pretty proud of it.  I even figured out how to post it on Facebook to share!  Now I have to print it to see how it turns out.

Day 136

Sunday May 16, 2010
Today we finally took some time to work in the yard.  Well, as you can see Ron worked, Riley ran off with his tools, Zach supervised and I took photos! :)
