Day 199

Sunday July 18, 2010
Today Ron stained the deck (finally) while I took Riley to a birthday party.  Last year we took off all the deck floor and laid down new boards because the old ones were rotting.  Well, we got busy and didn't get the "new" deck stained and protected.  So he is finally getting it done!  I guess it helps that he is on vacation this week!

Day 198

Saturday July 17, 2010
Today's POTD is of my medicine I have to take for a week or so.  Last Wednesday night I thought I was getting the shingle virus (herpes) on my eye again.  I called the eye doctor's office the next morning and the nurse convinced me that it might not be herpes again.  Well last night I thought I was getting another spot and this morning I did have another one.  I called the doctor's cell phone and he met me at the office and sure enough it's back.  He decide to give me a fill when needed prescription this time, so when I feel it is back I can get the prescription filled and start treatment.  What a pain in the EYE!

Day 197

Friday July 16, 2010
Today Zach had a softball scrimmage for practice.  I got this photo of him and Coach Dale.  Zach has really enjoyed the season, and so have I.  The coach is such a nice guy, so caring and fun.  He really just wants the kids to have a good time!

Day 196

Thursday July 15, 2010
I went to see it FINALLY!  I went with Lynn and Stephanie and had a women's night out.  We didn't do anything except see the movie, but that's okay!  We all enjoyed it and can't wait for the next!  Even though I didn't "take" this photo it is still my POTD! :)

Day 195

Wednesday July 14, 2010
Tonight we had a lazy night.  After we got home from Zach's golf practice, the boys went off and did their own thing.  Ron worked late so I made an easy dinner.  Riley was playing with his friends over the back fence and didn't want to come in and eat.  So I let him take his dinner out to his play fort.

Day 194

Tuesday July 13, 2010
Today Riley had another t-ball game.  He had done really well this season not playing with the chalk lines, but tonight he found it and played in it.  I guess the game just doesn't keep his attention enough to keep him out of the dirt and chalk!  At least he had a good time!

Day 193

Monday July 12, 2010
Today was spent putting things away from the weekend.  We were all pretty tired after camping for the weekend and from the drive home, so we just chilled last night which meant I got to spend today putting things away and doing laundry.  I guess it's a small price to pay for such a good weekend!

Day 192

Sunday July 11, 2010
Today on our way home from camping we stopped at the Kit Carson Carousel in Burlington.  I LOVE this carousel!  We have been coming here for years!  It is full of history and it is worth the drive just to see it and it's only 25 cents to ride it!  You can't beat that.  We all had a great time and what a nice thing to break up the ride home!

Day 191

Saturday July 10, 2010
Today we were camping at Bonny Lake State Park.  We had a great time.  Fishing from the bank wasn't good at all due to the lake being so low for so may years, and the vegetation growth that took place.  My cousins and their families joined us tonight for dinner and s'mores.  They live pretty close to the lake so we invited them to come and join us.  I am glad that they were able to make it.  We went down and wadded in the water by the boat dock and then we ate dinner and then after dinner we played a family game of volleyball.  We all had a great time and then we topped the night off with yummy s'mores!  Too fun!

Day 190

Friday July 9, 2010
Today's POTD is of our truck and camper on the way to camp for the weekend.  This is our first camping trip of the year.  We are overdue for it too.  We are heading to Bonny Lake State Park in Burlington.  We didn't get away as early as we wanted to, but I am sure all will be fine and we will have a good time!

Day 189

Thursday July 8, 2010
Tonight Ron needed to change the oil in his truck so he and Zach went to the store and got the supplies.  Apparently when they got back Ron went in the garage to get the tools he needed and the oil pan etc., well Zach decided to help and he poured half a quart of oil (synthetic type even) into the windshield wiper fluid reserve.  Ron wasn't too happy, but he was able to pour water into the reserve which made the oil float to the top and then he sucked out the oil with a syringe.  Never a dull moment!

Day 188

Wednesday July 7, 2010
Today's photo is of Riley out in his play fort in the rain.  He went out just before it started raining and once he started getting wet he decided to come in the house and then he really got wet.  Playing in the rain isn't really a big deal, except in Colorado it is usually a cold rain, so it's not always enjoyable, but to this kid, getting wet and dirty is ALWAYS enjoyable!

Day 187

Tuesday July 6, 2010
Today's POTD is of the book I am reading.  I was able to read a few chapters today.  I am enjoying this book as I did the others in this series.  Hopefully I can read a little bit more now that the house is somewhat clean.  I have decided that since it took me so long to get the house in order and mostly clean this time I will try to straighten up each day to stay on top of it and then it should remain clean, Right?  So I guess we'll see if it works for me or for how long anyway!

Day 186

Monday July 5, 2010
Today I went to the dentist to have him get the excess cement that was stuck between my teeth from putting in my new crown last Wednesday.  Well, he had a little surprise!  He handed down his son's old golf clubs to Zach.  I had mentioned to him that Zach was starting golf with Special Olympics and he asked if he had clubs and I said he had a junior set that were too short and we were going to have to look into getting him new ones this year, and he said that he would talk to his son because he had just gotten new ones.  Dr. Wright said that he grew up using "hand me down" clubs and would love to give Zach a set.  They are a little long, but we can have them shortened for him.  He was so excited and proud of his "new" clubs! He can't wait to use them!

Day 185

Sunday July 4, 2010
Happy Birthday America!  Today we had our annual 4th of July cookout and get together at our house.  It was mostly family but we had a few good friends too.  As always, we made homemade ice cream! Yum! Yum!  We are blessed to live close enough to see commercial fireworks from our driveway.  This photo was taken from our driveway of the country club fireworks!  Thanks to all the men and women who serve and have served to fight for our FREEDOM!

Day 184

Saturday July 3, 2010
Today's photo is Ron fixing our freezer/fridge.  I guess the drain hole was clogged up so all the defrost water was draining into the bottom of the freezer and then re-freezing, causing lots of ice in the bottom of the freezer and water on the kitchen floor.  I am soooo lucky to have a handy man in the house!

Day 183

Friday July 2, 2010
Today I cleaned my room!  I have a very bad habit about only cleaning really good when people are coming over to the house, and since we are having our annual 4th of July cookout/get together, I need to clean.  So today I concentrated on my room, so hopefully I won't have to keep the door closed!

Day 182

Thursday July 1, 2010
Today's POTD is of me and a few of my friends from back in high school.  We met at Fargos for lunch and  had a good time talking and catching up.  From the left it's Michelle, Tammy, Roxanne and Me.  I am so glad I was able to meet with them today!  Thanks to Mom for keeping the boys for me!
