Day 282

Saturday, October 9, 2010
Today Zach participated in a volleyball tournament with his team and they took first place!  I missed it because I was at the Relay Summit, but Ron said Zach did good!  My parents went and Mom said that the kids didn't do too well during the first game, but after lunch my Dad practiced with Zach and more kids joined in so then Ron and another Dad (Sal) got up and helped and it was a kids vs. adults game.  But Mom said it seemed to help, because they did better in the second game!  Go Bobcats!

Day 281

Friday, October 8, 2010
Today I went to Denver for the Relay for Life Summit!  It was a informational filled day to say the least.  I am glad that I decided to get a hotel room instead of driving back and forth.  I received the large bag at registration along with the stack of handbooks for the entire committee!  Let's hope that 2011 will be a great year to RELAY!

Day 280

Thursday, October 7, 2010
Today I ran around all day shuffling boys to the dentist, to and from school, and to and from hair cuts.  It was a successful day, because we all four got hair cuts and we all went to the dentist!  (No new cavities)!  I was able to fit in a minute and grab the new crocs I have been wanting!  I just think these are really cute, but now I have to decide if I want them in another color!

Day 279

Wednesday, October 6, 2010
Today Riley had to pull a card!  It was the first one of the year, and hopefully the last, but somehow I doubt it.  He was "acting tired" and not participating, even after the teacher asked him to straighten up.  I was so disappointed in him, but he seems to be the one that has to push the limits to see how far he can get.

Day 278

Tuesday, October 5, 2010
Today's POTD is of Dad up on the ladder caulking while Ron holds the ladder.  Ron isn't too fond of heights but will tolerate them if he has to, well at this height the ladder was moving too much for him and he just wasn't going to do it.  I called Dad and he and Mom came down for the price of dinner.  Dad was much more comfortable up there than Ron was, and got it caulked!  I think they forwent the nails that needed replaced, but they are the "professionals" not me!  Thanks again Dad!

Day 277

Monday, October 4, 2010

Well, Ron took the week off, mainly because he needs to use it or lose it, but he is going to use the week to work on the painting job.  We got both the boys out to help a little today.  They wanted to help fill the holes, so I let them.  I am sure we wasted a little more putty than necessary, but I think it is good for them to help and to learn how to do things.  We still have a long way to go, but it's getting done.

Day 276

Sunday, October 3, 2010
Today, Laurie, Mom and Kayla came down to our house, and we decided to make some plum jelly.  Laurie actually decided to do it and went out and picked some plums and then the three of us de-pitted them and then Laurie and I made jelly.  I am not sure what I am doing wrong, or if it's right, but mine came out good ( I didn't try it, but it is jelly and not liquid), but I couldn't get Laurie to listen to me, in that you can't over boil the mixture, so needless to say hers is runny, and unless she wants to use it as ice cream topping, she might need to re-boil it.  I might have petrified mine, but it's more jelly than runny!

Day 275

Saturday, October 2, 2010
Today I took Zach to bowling and he was smokin' hot!  He got a TURKEY!  I was so proud of him!  Luckily I had my camera!  As you can see, he had two gutters, three strikes (the turkey) then the next frame a spare, then another gutter!  Not so consistent, but he got a TURKEY!

Day 274

Friday, October 1, 2010
Today I went to lunch with my dear friend Debbie.  We don't get to get together too much, but it is always nice when we do.  We really had a great time talking and catching up, and we should do it more often!  I forgot my camera, so I just took a photo of the cup for today!

Day 273

Thursday, September 30, 2010
So the last few days I have been making gift card holders for Christmas.  I wish I would have started earlier so I could have made enough to go to a small craft fair and sell them, maybe next year.  I saw this idea on YouTube, (don't remember who, but I am pretty sure it was a Stampin' Up demonstrator) only the used some big shot die I think.  So I searched and found a cricut cut that was similar and made my own.  I really like how they turned out, and they were so simple!

Day 272

Wednesday, September 29, 2010
So tonight I was on the phone talking to my brother and Ron called on the other line and simply said come out front.  I wasn't sure what I was going to see, but I figured some sort of vandalism.  To my surprise, there was a raccoon in our tree!  Apparently he was sitting by my van when Ron walked up and the raccoon hissed at him and then got into the tree.  Raccoons are my favorite animal, so I was pretty excited!  Riley wanted to know if we could keep him, and Zach thought it was pretty cool.  I ran and grabbed my camera, but I haven't perfected night time photos yet!

Day 271

Tuesday, September 28, 2010
Today's POTD is of Riley watching his "favorite" show.  Of course everything is a "favorite" when you're 5.  He works really hard after dinner to get his homework done so that he can watch the Upside Down Show.  I really haven't watched it, but what parts I have caught are pretty silly, but if it gets him motivated to do his homework I am good with it!

Day 270

Monday, September 27, 2010
Today I went to a Creative Memories get together that I thought was to find out more about their digital software, but it turned out to be a sampling of their new products (which I had already seen on Saturday at the crop) and a little about some of the things that can be printed with their print center.  It was okay, although I could have made better use of my time.  It cost $5 to go, but I did win one of the door prizes that would have cost more to buy then $5, so I came out on top in the end!

Day 269

Sunday, September 26, 2010
Well, Ron officially started the house painting project!  It needs it really bad, but uugggghhhh!  He showed me that we have to pull some of the old nails out and put new ones back in and then fill the old holes and all other holes, caulk, sand, prime, then paint!  Let me just say uuugggghhhh!

Day 268

Saturday, September 25, 2010
Today's POTD is of my croppin' stuff in the van after a great day of work.  I actually got a few pages done, which is good for me, since I usually spend most of the time talking.  I guess someday I will decide I need to get caught up on my scrapbooks and make it happen, but for now I am good with a few pages here and there.

Day 267

Friday September, 24, 2010
Today's POTD is of Zach playing volleyball.  He started a few weeks ago with Special Olympics.  He sure has come a LONG way from his first season playing.  His serves are great, and from time to time he even hits the ball during the volley.  It is so great to see the growth!
